This specification has been declared CANCELLED by the Aerospace Materials Division, SAE, as of June 2009. By this action, this document will remain listed in the Numerical Section of the Index of Aerospace Material Specifications indicating that it has been CANCELLED.This specification covers an unpigmented silicone-resin-base coating material. Primarily for use on chemically or electrochemically treated magnesium and aluminum alloy surface to improve the high temperature corrosion and abrasion resistance and the air flow characteristics. The coating may also be used on steel for improvement of corrosion resistance.
